Truecafe hangs.

I don't know where to start, Truecafe works great and everything but we have to struggle with this problem since we had version 4.2 (I believe) and 4.4.

The clients in the computers run without problems, but in the server the program hangs out for times (blank screen, program not responding for seconds), this also happens when we click in a computer (terminal), want to start time or stop time (the program hangs for up to 12 seconds).

We have notice that after a clean install of the PC (server) the program runs smoothly again, but the problem evolves periodically (week by week you can feel how this problem is growing slowly, until it acts like this). We have tried to resolve the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling the program (Truecafe) but that doesn't work.

Everything else works fine, but we don't know what is causing this problem, we had even changed servers and as I said before the problem evolves periodically.

As side information, our server is a AMD Athlon 2.41 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, with Windows XP SP 2, our terminals are also using SP 2.

Hello Amber,

What exact TrueCafe version are you using at the moment (TrueCafe main menu > Help > About)?

Could you please email us your TrueCafe database (C:\TrueCafeData\db\TrueCafe.mdb) so that I could take a look at it?

The version we are using is 4.4.907.27. I have just sent the email (with this account litoes@gmail.com, btw Alex is the one that bought the program).

Hello Amber,

Thank you for the database!

I have 2 suggestion on this:

1) Use the latest official release, it has a few performance issues resolved:

2) Look at your right bottom corner of the main TrueCafe screen. You have a huge list of log outs there. You should close them all: double click on every session and click the "Paid" button to close it. The idea is to keep this list empty. When it gets too huge it can slowdown your system either.

Hi Serge.

I believe it's the second one, we never use that feature, could it be that the list keeps growing up day by day?

If so, how can we delete it? (there's some feature called limpieza or something but it didn't help).

Also in logs we have a huge text file of 42.6 MB (server.txt), is this part of the same problem?

If so, can we request or clean the same one?

Hello Amber,

You should use both ways: clean up your log-outs list (manually) and upgrade to the latest version.

Yes, you can clean up your log files as well, but this doesn't affect the system performance.

Hi Serge,

Well, we have changed the computer and got another one, we already had installed the new version and now we are cleaning the logs, hope that can fix everything for the future.

Also we have a problem while using Truecafe and gaming (MMOs), the games (e.g. Ragnarok, Aion) have an additional lag when Truecafe is open, is there an option in truecafe that we could disable to be able to play without this extra lag, or can we really can't play any game in the server?

Excuse me, not sure I understand, do you start games on your server side?

When exactly do you get the lag?

Hi guys, I'm new here, and the reason I came is because I'm trying to consider this software for my cyber cafe. I'm currently using CafeSuite and I'm experiencing similar problems though but got pretty much tired already. so I'm planning to switch to TrueCafe, however, with your post...would you still recommend it for me? I mean, is this problem encountered often? coz I really hate it when programs are running slow...

Can anyone give opinions on prons and cons of this?

Well, we have a number of clients with up to 200 terminals and a few thousand customers and to my surprise :) the system is working rather fast. We're constantly working on the performance improvements so I hope the software should work well for you.
